Advocate Support Program The Pack Parachute Charity advocate support program pays for the supplies, tools and expenses of MST peer advocates who help or are interested in helping other MST survivors or the MST community at large. Advocates are MST survivors themselves, and create, run and have full ownership of their own independent advocacy program, which they tailor-make to support their own recovery based on their own interests, skills, and abilities. Advocates are encouraged to connect and collaborate with other advocates through the Veteran Community Network’s (VCN) website portal. Other survivors requesting help of an advocate will also find their advocate through the VCN’s site. Advocates are:
Trainer Support Program Advocates who have completed several years of steady advocacy and are doing work in areas Pack Parachute believes are essential to the wellbeing and growth of the MST community are subcontracted by Pack Parachute for their work. These Trainers receive more substantial and reliable funding for larger projects, to include retreats, paid staff, etc. Trainers mentor advocates, but are not the direct support of clients seeking help through the Peer Advocate Network. These programs are in currently in their testing phase and plan to open to the MST community at large in 2012. Check back here then if you are interested in this remarkable program. |
